If your Eufy camera has stopped recording events or missing crucial footage, don’t worry—this is a common issue with several straightforward solutions. Here’s how to troubleshoot and get your recordings back on track.
- 🔍 Check Your Camera’s Power and Connection
Make sure the camera is charged or plugged in. If you’re using a HomeBase, verify that it’s online. Open the Eufy app and check for live view access.
- ⚙️ Confirm Motion Detection Settings
Go to the Eufy Security App > Tap the gear icon on your device.
Select Motion Detection.
Ensure it’s toggled ON and sensitivity is set to Medium or High.
Choose Human Only, All Motion, or Custom based on your needs. - 🎯 Set Activity Zones Properly
Misconfigured zones may cause missed events.
Redraw your Activity Zones to ensure the motion area is properly covered. - 🔄 Restart or Reset the Device
Restart the camera from the app.
If the problem continues, reset the camera (hold Sync button for 10 seconds). - 📡 Check Storage Settings
Ensure your storage isn’t full.
For HomeBase models: tap Storage > Check available space.
For cloud: ensure subscription is active. - 🔔 Update Firmware
Outdated firmware can prevent recordings.
Go to App > Device Settings > About Device > Firmware to update. - 📲 Notification Isn’t Recording
Notifications may appear even if recording is off.
Ensure Record Video is enabled under Motion Detection Settings.
🛠 Still Not Working?
- Delete and re-add the device in the app.
- Try another location with stronger Wi-Fi.
- Contact Eufy Support for advanced issues.
