I just installed a couple of Z-Wave smart plugs and I’m hoping to control them through my Vivint panel. I’ve read that Vivint supports Z-Wave, but I’m not sure how flexible it is with third-party brands.

Yes, Vivint supports Z-Wave devices, but compatibility can vary. I’ve had luck with Yale smart locks and Leviton dimmers, but some off-brand plugs didn’t pair correctly. You’ll probably need a Vivint technician to add the device through their system. I'd recommend calling support with the exact model number before you buy anything.
